Perforated One Way Vision Window Vinyl - Contra Vision
The perforated one-way vision film used to create our one-way window graphics is 40% open area and 1.6mm perforations. It ensures that our one way window graphics can be used to advertise products and services on vehicles and buildings whilst maintaining visibility from the inside.
See-through window graphics provide one-way vision during the daytime. Our perforated window graphics are printed using a white and a black vinyl layer that is then laminated together, which gives a superior, more consistent product than any alternative black coating or black adhesive method. These window graphics are easily applied and removes quickly and cleanly.
None - No Cutting Required
We will supply your design with no individual cutting and just rough cut slightly larger than the entire job.
This is not recommended for small stickers and is only suitable for applying to another substrate that will be trimmed after.
Shape Cut - Delivered on a roll up to 1600mm wide
Also known as Contour Cut or Kiss Cut (This cuts through the vinyl sticker only not the backing paper and is supplied on a roll up to 1600mm wide)
This is by far the cheapest way to receive your stickers or labels supplied on a roll up to 1600mm wide for you to trim down as required.
Note: Roll widths of upto 1.6m wide can be supplied so is not suitable for large quantities of stickers and labels as the roll size they will be supplied on are unmanageable for most people.
Individually Shape Cut - Loose Stickers
Also known as Die Cut or Through Cut (This cuts through the vinyl sticker and the backing paper) this is the most popular finishing for our stickers and labels.
With our die cut stickers or labels you get your sticker or label as individual items (not on a roll) which is great for handing out at promotional events to increase brand awareness or including in packages.
Shape Cut Labels on Sheets - Sheet Labels
Also known as Contour and Die Cut (This is a combination of the other two type of cutting)
This type of cutting is extremely popular as it supplies manageable size sticker sheets with multiple stickers or labels per sheet that can be easily peeled off individually and any unused stickers and labels can be stored in an office drawer for future use.
Note: When pricing this option please use the finished sheet size (eg A4) not the smaller stickers and labels size on the finished sheet.
None - No White Ink
All colours will be translucent, this will give a stained glass effect on windows but if being applied to a coloured surface or object this can change the colours as the base colour of the object shows through.
Spot White Ink
Spot white ink is an extra colour we can apply to selected areas leaving some parts of your sticker or graphics clear. One of the benefits of spot white ink is we can under print white ink which will make the colours more vibrant and not translucent.
Flood Coated white Ink
This is most commonly used on window graphics and static cling. We can reverse print your design on clear vinyl or static cling and then flood coat with white ink so your graphics can be applied to the inside of a window and viewed from outside. This would give the effect of printing on the adhesive side of a white self adhesive vinyl.
Surface Preparation
Surfaces to which the material will be applied must be thoroughly cleaned from dust, grease or any contamination that could affect the adhesion of the material. Complete a second cleaning using mild soap and water to ensure the window is completely clean. Finally, rinse with water only and thoroughly dry the surface.
Using a Dry Application Method
We only recommend a dry application using a plastic applicator with a low friction sleeve. Avoid touching the adhesive especially at the edges and corners and cut away the top 25 to 50 millimeters of the liner. Begin application of the material on the window starting at the top.
Squeegee down evenly handling the graphic with care and ensuring that no bubbles are trapped. Cut the graphic back from the edge of the window by about three millimeters to ensure reliable edge adhesion.
Completion
Complete a final squeegee taking particular care with the edges. The graphic should not be washed within 24 hours of application to allow the adhesive to reach a sufficient strength.
Joins
Firstly, be sure to use a butt join. Apply the first panel then take the second panel, cut away the top 25 to 50 millimeters of the liner and align the design of the first and second panels applying the second panel with overlap.
Cut down the center of the overlap through both layers of material taking care not to scratch the glass. Remove the trimmed excess film to form a clean butt join.
In Summary
- Clean your surface thoroughly
- Use a dry application method
- Remove the liner with care
- Avoid touching the adhesive
- Don’t wash the graphics for 24 hours
All self-adhesive vinyl including perforated window films have a minimum application temperature and low temperatures can make installation difficult, if not impossible. If temperatures are below the minimum application temperature the adhesive can become hard, resulting in the material failing to bond effectively to the glass.
Extensive testing has shown that Contra Vision perforated window films can be applied reliably at 10°C/50°F.
The minimum application temperature of 10°C/50°F refers to the temperature of the glass, not the air temperature, as the temperature of the glass can remain lower than the surrounding air. We recommend that when installing in cold weather, Contra Vision perforated windows films are applied in the afternoon, preferably after the windows have been warmed by the sun. Temperature should not drop below 5°C/41°F within 4 hours of application and not drop below 0°C/32°F within 24 hours of application.
In the winter months storage temperatures can significantly drop and we recommend that the material is warmed to room temperature well before application. The same applies when transporting graphics, the material being allowed to reach room temperature before application, and not left in a cold vehicle overnight.
